Welcome to NorthernMoor.org - your "One-Stop shop" for community information in Northern Moor.
The site is primarily for the many "not for profit" organisations that serve the local community. It serves as a Community Noticeboard, where you can find details of regular activities or special events, read a blog, or start your own.
The site belongs to the whole community - if you represent a local community group, please help to keep the site "buzzing" by adding your events to the calendar, writing news articles, or participating in the Forum.
The site is hosted by Delta Lights, and is subject to editorial oversight by moderators.
Last year the 1st Northern Moor Festival in July proved that there’s more to Northern Moor!
So due to popular demand the festival is back for 2011 aiming to show that there is EVEN more to Northern Moor! It’s a festival organized by local people FOR local people.
There will an atmosphere of celebration throughout the event with a stage area, musical acts, entertainers, dancers and cheer leaders, including Stars of Wythenshawe’s Got Talent. Local organizations will be there with stalls and giving demonstrations throughout the afternoon and there will be a football tournament for local young peoples’ football teams. People will be able to also enjoy bouncy castles, fairground rides, face painters and much more…..!
So come along on to Button Lane Primary School playing fields on Saturday 21st May, 2011 12-4pm! For further details, please contact Andy Bell on tel: 0161 614 1780, email:

Acoustic panels have been installed at St Aidan's Centre.
The panels were specified to reduce the reverberation in the hall, which was troublesome for all activities, and especially problematic for training, conference or seminar users.
The new panels are brightly coloured and bring a happy, playful look to the centre, without reducing its broad-ranging appeal. St Aidan's Centre hosts regular groups for children, and also other groups, training events, and Community Functions.
We are grateful to the Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund which provided a grant for the work.
St Aidan's Centre in Wythenshawe Road has received an award from the Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund, for acoustic treatment inside the centre.
Previously part of St Aidan's RC church, St Aidan's Centre is managed by the Catholic Children's Society, and provides space for community groups. Currently, users include Slimmer's World, and Rainbows.
The venue was refurbished to a high standard in 2008, but has suffered with very loud acoustics. The addition of acoustic panels, made possible by the Airport Trust Fund grant, will significantly quieten the space, making it more suitable for training events and conferences, as well as the children's activities that already take place.
We expect that the acoustic panels will be fitted in the next few months.
