Contributing content to NorthernMoor.Org

To add content to the site, you must first Register as a user. Click on the "Create new account" link at bottom-left (you may need to scroll the page to see it). Enter your user name and email address, and also enter your home Post Code and say something about your interest in Northern Moor.

To prevent spamming, all accounts are subject to authorisation by administrators.

Once your account is activated, you will receive a log-in link by email. Use the link to go to your account page and change your password to one that you can remember. We also encourage you to upload a picture of yourself, so that you can be recognised as the author of your content.

Your account may still be limited, since not all users have access to all areas of the site. If want to post content and you see "Access denied" errors, please Contact the site adminstrator, to have your account upgraded.


To add details of your community group or organisation, click on the "Community Groups" link at the top of the site, then use the link to add your group. (Or use this direct link!)

At present you can't add details of your company - the page is not yet written.

Publishing news items is similar - click on the "News" link at the top of the site, then use the link at the top of the page. (Or use this direct link!)

  • News items have optional "subject" tags. If your news is about a particular organisation, enter its name in the subject tag. Users will be able to find all news about the same organisation.
  • Publishing news items is not available to all users. If you want to publish news for your organisation, please contact the site admin to have your account upgraded. 

Publicise your events by clicking on the "What's on" link at the top, then use the "Add+" link above the calendar.  (Or use this direct link!)

  • Events must have a "Sponsor", which is the community group or organisation hosting the event. The group must be registered on the site before events can be posted for it. Users will be able to find all events hosted by the same sponsor.
  • Access to post events is not available to all users. If you want to publicise evets for your organisation, please contact the site admin to have your account upgraded. 

Create your own blog in the same way, using the link at the top of the "blogs" page. (Or use this direct link!)

  • Blog entries have optional subject tags. Use them if your blog is about several different subjects, or if other users may write about the same subject. Subject tags allow users to find all the blog entries that have been written about that subject.
  • Access to blogging is not available to all users. If you would like a personal blog, please contact the site admin to have your account upgraded.

The Forum is a great place to air your views, and find out what others think. Post comments on subjects already posted, or start your own discussion.
